A heartfelt "Thank You" from Dr. Kyle Renard

Thank you so much to all of those who supported me in this campaign. Many of you spent countless hours working in your sphere of influence to get our message out. You all can congratulate yourselves for an amazing job. We were able to garner 40% of the vote, 2352 votes, more than the amount cast in the 2006 election in District 1 altogether. That is an incredible feat, especially given the short two month campaign time frame. We have learned many things through this campaign.

Please stay involved and hold this new Board of Trustees accountable for their actions. My opponent made many promises and we need to be sure that he follows through to accomplish them. I remain very concerned about the state of DISD and the fate of the children enrolled in the public schools. This campaign was not about me, but rather it was about securing the best public education for our children. There are tremendous problems facing the district and these must be addressed. The public must stay engaged in order to make sure the board acts in the best interest of our children.
